10 further funded 1:1 coaching places confirmed for colleagues working in Croydon education settings thanks to Croydon Education Partnership.

Following the successful offer of 10 funded 1:1 coaching places to education staff in Croydon, the Croydon Education Partnership have confirmed further funded places for staff on parental leave, or back at work with children aged 5 or under.

This offer is part of The MTPT Project’s “Cradle to Classroom” programme of parental transition support, which aims to offer all school staff a comprehensive package of coaching during and post-parental leave to support their transition back into work.

This coaching is for teachers, leaders or support staff working in an independent or state school, academy, FE or nursery setting in Croydon.  Colleagues can access one block of coaching from the start of their maternity, adoption or shared parental leave, all the way up to when their youngest child is five years old.  The coaching is available to all parents who have taken a period of extended leave, including fathers and non-birthing partners.

Seven of the original funded places have now been claimed, and new parents working in primary, secondary and independent settings in Croydon have begun to benefit.

One participant said, “Coaching has been invaluable to me as I have wrestled with the return to work after two maternity leaves. I love my job and find it deeply rewarding, but navigating it alongside two small children makes the job different. I have had to ask questions about my career path and coaching has enabled me to not just dismiss the idea of still being a leader and looking for promotion. It has helped me to think about keeping a career I can thrive in and enjoy, whilst not succumbing to overwhelm and stepping back rather than forward. I would advise any person taking leave to have this coaching, it pays back many times over.”

This fully-funded coaching initiative in Croydon adds to existing fully-funded access to The MTPT Project’s Return to Work workshops and Parental Leave group coaching programmes to provide education staff with a full pathway of support and headspace to navigate these challenges.
