Teaching and Parenting (Recorded Access)

Online

Colleagues beginning their teacher training as parents to young or teenage children this September can access recorded versions of the two webinars we held in July:

  • Realistic Expectations
  • Managing Change

You’ll get loads of support from your mentor, school and ITT provider, but these webinars support you specifically with the additional balancing act of stepping into one of the most rewarding careers available, whilst also meeting your family’s needs as a parent.

Tickets cost £10 per webinar and are available on Eventbrite until the end of October.

Supporting Trainees who are Parents (Recorded Access)
Online

If you’re mentoring a trainee this September who is a parent to young or teenage children, our Supporting Trainees webinar will give you the information, perspective and tools to support them to make the best start in their new career.

Whether you have first hand experience of teaching and parenting yourself, or are not sure what additional nuances this demographic of trainee might need support with, this webinar will give you practical support to mentor with confidence and compassion.

Tickets cost £16 and recorded access is available on Eventbrite over the summer holidays.  Check out our September date if you would like to join us live.

Participants on former cohorts have (some examples) increased parental leave and pay in their organisations, established more inclusive CPD cultures, developed a regional plan to support colleagues on parental leave, set up on-site nurseries, made family policies more inclusive, and improved feedback opportunities for parent-staff in their workforces.

Cohorts begin in November and May.  If you are currently on a period of maternity, adoption or shared parental leave but work in one of the positions listed above, please contact us about funding options.
