Free Subject Specific Study
The below courses are provided by subject specialists, ranging from local education authorities or networks, to individual practitioners. They can all be accessed free of charge.
Sheryl Sandburg’s powerful book, Lean In, is one of our top CPD reading choices at The MTPT Project. Following the publication of the book, Sandburg founded LeanIn.Org to support women interested in leadership positions.
Their website is full of fascinating resources and ‘Expert Series’ with titles like ‘Negotiation’, ‘What Works for Women at Work’ and ‘Centred Leadership’. The series are made of bitesize videos that are perfect for watching when you don’t have the luxury of a whole half hour to dedicate to CPD.
This free Policy in Education course is designed and run by Leah Stewart, co-organiser of TedX Norwich, and author of ‘Beyond the Box Education’.
By registering with the NCETM, you can gain access to a range of free online CPD courses specific to different phases and topics.
Memrise is as useful for MFL or EAL teachers, or Language club leaders as it is for students. It offers courses of varying difficulties and on different categories such as ‘The Natural World’ or ‘Arts and Literature’ in over 200 languages.
Why not use Memrise to brush up on your weaker second (or third!) language vocabulary, or to learn how to use the software to set free, fun homework activities?
Paid Subject Specific Study
The below courses all charge a fee to access. Some provide accreditation from nationally recognised bodies.
The Independent Schools Association offer a paid online course, ‘Leading an Independent School’, which has already been succesfully completed by a number of participants on parental leave.
